Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
BasementBonsai is a listing assistant for eBay sellers. This policy explains what we collect,
why, and how you can delete it at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a bcrypt-hashed password. We never see or store your
password in plain text.
- eBay authorization: when you link your eBay account, eBay issues us OAuth tokens
(an access token and refresh token) scoped to the permissions you approved. The tokens are
encrypted at rest. We never have your eBay password.
- Your listing data: titles, prices, SKUs and watch counts of your active listings,
read through the eBay API, so we can compare them against the current market.
- Telegram: if you link Telegram, we store your Telegram user id to send you digests
and alerts.
- Preferences and templates: the selling preferences and listing templates you save.
What we do with it
- Scan the active market for items like yours and send you pricing suggestions.
All market queries are pointed at pricing your own listings — we do not build
market-research data products from your data.
- Send you a daily digest and price-adjust alerts through the channel you chose.
- We never change your eBay listings, prices, or anything else without your explicit
instruction. Suggestions are propose-only.
- We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to anyone.
Deleting your data
Use Delete account in the app. It permanently removes your account, eBay tokens,
listing data, templates and preferences. If you close your eBay account, eBay notifies us and
we delete your data the same way. Nothing is retained after deletion except an anonymous log
entry recording that a deletion happened.
